Welcome to my portfolio! I am a student at the University of Michigan earning a dual degree in Data Science and User Experience Design. My work explores the intersection of these studies, as well as my appreciation for research and curiosities in sustainability, policy, and business.
I have always been passionate about the combination of art and technology, directing short films and editing them on iMovie at the age of eight. I'm excited by the challenge of using tools like artificial intelligence and augmented reality to design innovations that create a more sustainable, inclusive, and efficient society.
The Logo
What is the meaning behind the Saturn Logo? Long story short, space is pretty damn cool.
At the age of eight I wanted an established signature, something that characterizes me. All of my art pieces are signed in scripture with a circle around the "J", representing Saturn. But how does Saturn represent me?
Some of my earliest memories consist of nights outside, staring at the black abyss above us all. I've always been in awe about the mystery we call "space". There are questions I would spend hours asking myself, asking friends - questions that physics does not have answers to. What else is out there? Are there more living organisms in the abyss? Yes, space is constantly expanding, but what is it expanding into?
This curiosity about space is an infatuation that still continues today. Even though I know that there are no solid answers, asking questions stimulates endless interesting conversation, letting creative thoughts take over and building a reality based off of imagination.
So, all in all, Saturn symbolizes my curiosities and questions, reflecting my desire to explore and learn—not only about space but also in my art, design, and life.
